I don't know anyone who doesn't enjoy eating. When you start to ask where your food came from, how it was grown, nurtured, and delivered to market, something starts clicking. You realise that the pizza is not from a box, but that the base was made of flour—perhaps crafted with a sourdough starter that was fed and maintained at regular intervals. The tomato was planted at the right time, with someone nervously watching that frost wouldn't kill it before it had a chance to ripen. That cheese was made from milk from a cow that had the chance to graze on proper grass, with sunshine, rain, and a breeze through her coat. That is how we want to eat. It is not always possible. Living in a city and having busy lives remove so many people from their sources of food, and paying for the good stuff often feels more like a luxury than a necessity. Our challenge for this week's podcast episode is to change one thing. To find one supplier, grower, or neighbour from whom you can purchase, or even barter for, ingredients that were grown with love. With care and attention. Because we are what we eat, and what we eat should be respected.
