Fail! Fast!

We've all done it: you have just watched the one zillionth YouTube video about how to do "this thing" you have been obsessing over for the last month. You have probably rewatched that same episode a few times, and if anyone asks you, you could quote verbatim all the steps needed to do "that thing."

In theory you are a master.

However, you have not actually done "the thing" yet.

A baby only manages to fall flat on their face if they actually get off their bums and onto their wobbly little legs, and try the very first step. There is no movement when staying still.

This week's episode is called Fail! Fast! — a reminder that failure is inevitable. We have all heard of the 20-year-overnight-success stories. Fascinating people and projects that suddenly became famous and well known, as if by chance. Yet we do not know the number of failures, disasters, almost-give-it-all-ups they had to endure to get to this point. The faster you fail, the quicker you gather evidence. The faster you can pivot, call in some help, learn, adapt.

Fail! Fast!

The shame is not in failure, but in not trying. Only watching. For the one zillion-and-first time.

Enjoy your Journey!
