"Do you see it?" "Where?" "There!" "Nope… cannot see it…" "But it is so OBVIOUS!" Maybe to you. Sure. Maybe the big obvious elephant in the room is staring everyone in the eye and you are very aware of it. Or the very naked Emperor is walking around in all his naked glory, mesmerising the common folk with his oh-so-beautiful new, PR-hyped, light-induced cloth. Very very obvious. To you. And then, when someone compliments you on your ability to recognise patterns, fix a problem, reframe a problem, bake a loaf of bread, grow a tomato, sing a song, you look around in shock and admit — I do not see it. In this week's episode we banter about the game of word search — one of our morning rituals alongside walking with the (now all grown) puppies and the two cups of coffee. And almost every time we play this game we realise yet again. What is obvious to you, may not be so obvious to the person you are sharing an office, a relationship, an idea with. M likes to remind us that we have the opportunity to learn and the responsibility to teach. Because sometimes the thing that is so obvious to us just needs to be reframed slightly to become visible to the person we care about.
