We all have those songs that will sometimes go on auto-repeat, play in our minds and remind us of times and places and people. The earworm. Over and over you play the song until you have to do something drastic like humming a nursery rhyme with a different beat, just to get rid of it. The question though, what is it called when that earworm is something you read? A phrase, a paragraph, a sentence that restores your beliefs, or challenges your ideas about what you think you know? Or confirm what you believe about the world, relationships, and life. “Wealth, when aligned with purpose, becomes a powerful tool, not an idol, not a measure of worth, but a means to uplift, build, and restore. Founders who anchor their leadership in purpose build more than companies. They build lives. They build people. They build legacies.” These words were written by a man who has seen, experienced and lived some of the most interesting business ventures play out. Stories, lessons and challenges have been put together in a carefully curated book Wisdom that Builds, by Frencel Gillion, founder and mastermind behind Primera Capital. Frencel challenges us with these questions: “Is this business making the world better? Am I building something that will outlive me?
